Nominations for Whit and Anne Griffith Community Service Award

Every January the Dallas Amateur Radio Club takes nominations for the Whit and Anne Griffith Community Service Award. Nominations for this award shall be members of the Club and may be submitted by member of either the amateur community or the community-at-large.

Nominees shall be solicited from among those amateur radio operators who have truly gone above and beyond what reasonably is defined as typical or routine community service, i.e., nominees should have made extraordinary contributions to the general and/or amateur communities.

Nominations shall be by brief (less than 250 words) written statement, sent to the board of directors by U.S. Mail or email transmission or you can use https://w5fc.org/contact/ and shall be received by the board of directors no later than the last day of January of each year.

The board of directors will consider each nominee at the February meeting, and make a final decision on the winner of the award. The winner(s) of the award shall receive a high-quality, engraved personalized plaque from the Club during the regular April Club meeting.

DARC FD 2021 Award Certificates

The Dallas Amateur Radio Club will be issuing DARC Field Day 2021 Award Certificates for operators that participated in the ARRL Field Day 2021 event and submitted their log to the ARRL and selected “Dallas Amateur Radio Club” as their club/group affiliate. 2017 Whit and Anne Griffith Award Winner announced

As President of the DARC, it was my honor to present the 2017 Whit and Anne Griffith Community Service Award to a very deserving person at the April DARC General Meeting.  This Ham Operator was mentioned by several members and other Ham operators from other clubs.

ARRL West Gulf Division Award Presentation at HamCom June 10 2017

James

I went to the West Gulf Division meeting at HamCom june 10, 2017 and was surprised to see one of our members getting an Award. Dr. David Woolweaver K5RAV presented James Shugart N5BKL with the “Lifetime Achievement Award” for his consummate volunteering.  Dr. WoolWeaver continued speaking on how important volunteering is for Ham Radio as well as your life.  The efforts and effects that James has had on individuals around him being a volunteer has personified him for this award.  As President of the DARC, I would like to congratulate you on such a deserving award.  To see the video of the presentation Click Here.  To see more pictures Click Here
