Winter Field Day is just a few days away! The event begins this Saturday, January 26th. For more details about the 3-club special event station that the DARC, IARC, and MARS will be organizing, you can see our information post here. You can also sign up and let us know you’re coming—but don’t worry, the event is open to all, whether you’ve signed up or not, even if you’re not a licensed ham yet.
If you enjoy contesting but aren’t interested in Winter Field Day, the CQ WW 160-meter CW Contest is coming up on the 25th-27th of this month.
Winter Field Day won’t mean that we won’t have our usual, scheduled nets. TechNet and SKYNET will meet as planned, and the next Afterglow Movie will be Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog.
There will be no Lecture and Lab this weekend. Instead, the next Lecture and Lab will be on February 23rd. We might be building a neat digital meter kit, or we might be learning about the DRAWS Rasperry Pi hat and software.
UPDATE: The National Weather Service has cancelled the Tarrant County SKYWARN class for this weekend (Jan. 26th).
