On Nov 17, 2018 upgrades have been completed on the W5FC 442.425 Fusion repeater. The older DR-1X was upgraded and replaced with a new Yaesu DR-2X. Special thanks to K5BP for his hard work and effort on “tweeking” the controller codes to work with the new hardware. The repeater is also Wires-X attached – operators can talk around the world.
Some good news and bad – The Bad: AS of Nov 11, 2018 the w5fc DARC 442.425 Yaesu System Fusion Repeater will be off the air for a few days. The Good: when the repeater and controller come back on the air it will be the new Yaesu DR2X and have Wires-X connectivity (replacing the older DR1X). Stay tuned for more updates as they occur. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Thanks to the generous donation from the Irving Amateur Radio (IARC) for $1000.00. Along with some other private donations. The DARC AREDN Mesh network has been upgraded and expanded.
