W5FC 442.425 DR-2X Repeater

On Nov 17, 2018 upgrades have been completed on the W5FC 442.425 Fusion repeater.   The older DR-1X was upgraded and replaced with a new Yaesu DR-2X. Special thanks to K5BP for his hard work and effort on “tweeking” the controller codes to work with the new hardware.   The repeater is also Wires-X attached – operators can talk around the world.

Some good news and bad – The Bad:  AS of Nov 11, 2018 the w5fc DARC 442.425 Yaesu System Fusion Repeater will be off the air for a few days.  The Good:  when the repeater and controller come back on the air it will be the new Yaesu DR2X and have Wires-X connectivity (replacing the older DR1X).  Stay tuned for more updates as they occur.  We apologize for any inconvenience.

Have you signed up for Turkey Trot? If not, and you like having fun in the cold with other hams, you should join us! All you need is an HT and enthusiasm.

And don’t forget: many club members will soon need to pay their dues for next year. If that’s you, then head over to https://www.hamclubonline.com/ and take care of that.

Finally, our president will be one of the leading competitors in a chili cook-off next weekend. It benefits a great charity, so why not check it out?

The contest calendar shows a few events going on this weekend. The RTTY weekend of the Worked All Europe DX Contest is in progress, as is the 10-10 International Fall Digital QSO Party.

It’s time to sign up for Turkey Trot! It’s just about the neatest thing you can do with your holiday morning, and you get to sleep in—we’re not getting started until 6:00 am this year.

Today is Tech Net on the Hill! This is the nicest day we’ve had in weeks, and we’ve got the nicest, smartest people. Come on over!

We have a surprise net coming up this Monday…and we are badly in need of a good surprise. Please contact the club and share your ideas.

It’s time to sign up for Turkey Trot! It’s just about the neatest thing you can do with your holiday morning, and you get to sleep in—we’re not getting started until 6:00 am this year.

In the world of contests, there’s a big one going on right now: the SSB installment of the famous CQ World Wide DX Contest. When you’re not at Tech Net on the Hill, you’d better be on the air. You might even think about bringing a portable HF setup with you wherever you go, so that you don’t miss any contacts.
