
Starting calendar year 2024 the DARC will be hosting an exciting year long members only HAM Radio participation event (DARC-MOE). The purpose and goal of the event will be promoting DARC memberships, participation in HAM Radio contests and events attendance. Members will earn virtual entry tickets for participation and attendance that will be tallied up at the DARC Winter Dinner where one lucky winner will win an amazing prize. Details below
EVENT DETAILS This is a DARC members only calendar year 2024 event. Participants need to be a current member of the DARC during the calendar year 2024. Each participant will be awarded an entry ticket for any official ARRL contest they enter and submit for scoring during the calendar year 2024. Proof of participation and score will be required to claim an entry ticket. In addition, any CQ World Wide DX Contest the member enters and submits a score and proof of participation will also be able to claim an entry ticket. All modes/bands/operator classes will be eligible during any of the listed contests for an entry ticket. When possible the contest/event operator should claim “Dallas Amateur Radio Club” for any contest submission that allow/have club participation. FIELD DAY Any club member that attends and/or participates in the DARC Winter Field Day 2024 or the DARC ARRL 2024 Summer Field Day event will automatically be awarded an entry ticket by attendance from the onsite sign in form. Operators can claim one additional entry ticket by submitting under their own call sign and participating in the Field Day events.
POTA Any club member that conducts a valid POTA (Parks On The Air) activation during the 2024 calendar year will also be awarded one entry ticket for each park that is activated. Proof of park activation will be required.
SOTA Any club member that participates in SOTA (Summits On The Air) will be awarded 2 entry tickets for each SOTA summit they activate and submit logs/show proof of activation during the 2024 calendar year.
BONUS Club members that participate in the Annual 13 Colonies event in July 2024 will be awarded one entry ticket and any club member that is awarded a “clean sweep” PLUS ALL of the BONUS stations will receive an additional entry ticket – proof of participation is required by sending and obtaining the official 13 Colonies 2024 certificate from the event.
LOGGING Club members that have an active QRZ and/or LoTW account will be awarded one additional entry ticket for each active account in 2024. An active QRZ account needs to have a minimum of 12 confirmed contacts (gold star). An active LoTW means the operator has uploaded a log at least one time during the event.
SUBMISSION Proof of contest(s) participation is required to claim an entry ticket by sending an email to the club info email address showing your contest entry-log received/confirmation email or park/summits activated. For the 13 Colonies event a photo/scan of the official certificate will be required. For LoTW/QRZ bonus an active LoTW and/or QRZ account screenshot showing any activity in 2024 entry is required to claim the bonus entry. The more entries a club member has the better the chances of winning. All proofs are due NO LATER THAN DEC 1, 2024.
DRAWING/PRIZE A winner will be drawn at the 2024 DARC Winter Dinner/Diner event where the entries will be totaled for each club member that participated and a drawing will be held for a Yaesu FT-710 Field HF Radio. Questions or comments contact us here https://w5fc.org/contact/
