ARRL Field Day is the single most popular HAM Radio on-the-air event held annually in the US and Canada and is open to all FCC license classes. On the fourth weekend of June of each year, more than 35,000 radio amateur operators gather with their clubs, groups or simply with friends and family to operate from remote locations. Field Day is a picnic, a campout, practice for emergencies, an informal contest and, most of all, FUN! This year the DARC will host an in-person event at the Johnston Outpost YMCA in Farmers Branch. The festivities and event officially start at 1pm central time June 25, 2022 but the DARC crew in true fashion will be there early at 9am for setup. The DARC will be operating as 3A (Three Alpha) and will have 3 radios on the air during the event. Come join in the fun! Additional details below.
ARRL Field Day 2022 rules have been modified from past years. For Reference here is the link to the ARRL Field Day 2022 Rules: https://contests.arrl.org/ContestRules/Field-Day-Rules.pdf
One of the updates will allow class D stations typically as “home stations”, including stations operating from permanent or licensed station locations using commercial power to obtain QSO credit for contacts with other Class D stations. In addition, an aggregate club score will be published, which is the sum of all individual entries indicating a specific club. Come on out in person and/or contribute to the club score for W5FC submitting your own log for the Dallas Amateur Radio Club.
