Think Dallas Field Day 2018! Think Excitement! Think Fun! Think Food! That is what you have rolled into one event when you come and attend Dallas Field Day 2018! The Dallas Amateur Radio Club will have Field Day 2018 operations at the Pavilion at Flagpole Hill. Field Day actually starts on the air at 1 PM, Saturday, June 23rd , and ends 1 pm, Sunday, June 24th.

Our activities will start on Saturday morning June 23, 2018 around 7 AM when a group gathers at Whataburger, in front of Fry’s Electronics on Northwest Highway, for breakfast. If you are available to help with set-up, please drop us a note via our contact form so we can get an idea on how many we can depend upon. We start early to try and beat the heat!

We will take over the Pavilion at Flag Pole Hill around 8 AM and start the journey of setting up equipment and antennas. Our DARC Communications Trailer and generator will be on site for the event.

We are hoping for a great turn out for families or individuals who are able and would like to spend the weekend camping out with us – remember this is a City of Dallas Park and no alcoholic beverages are permitted. We have had folks that camped with us in years past and had a great time. The pavilion has plenty of seating.

We will start Saturday morning with volunteers helping to set up and being ready to CQ CQ CQ CQ dah dit dah dit dah dah dit dah, Whisky 5 Fried Chicken at 1 PM! We will be operating 4 A with a GOTA station. There will be plenty of stations to work from, whether it is CW, Digital or voice – there is room for all. We will have signup sheets on W5FCdotorg to reserve time for stations and we will be operating around the clock, so if you like to stay up late at night, we have a place for you.

DARC will provide Saturday lunch consisting of Hamburgers & Hot Dogs and our traditional BBQ Dinner being served around 7:30PM Saturday. The dinner menu will consist of smoked brisket, smoked sausage, macaroni & cheese, baked beans, peach cobbler and the trimmings. We will have donation jar again this year. We are requesting a donation of $5 per person for lunch and $10 per person for dinner to help offset the cost of the event. Food will be served until it runs out! It is a “first-come first-served event”.

Hope to see you there!
